I am currently the President and Owner of Finding Golden Solutions, a consulting firm dedicated to helping organizations grow stronger.  I have almost 28 years of executive director experience.  Most recently I was the Executive Director of the Adaptive Learning Center (ALC), a nonprofit in Concord serving adults with neurodevelopmental and autism spectrum disabilities.  Prior to ALC, I was the Executive Director of Moving Forward for almost ten years. Moving Forward is a nonprofit in Napa that provides independent living skills to young adults with disabilities. Before Moving Forward, I was the Executive Director of Toolworks, a human service agency that creates social and economic opportunities for over 500 individuals with disabilities each year in the San Francisco Bay Area. Toolworks, which was founded in 1975, has had from its inception the vision to be a self-supporting nonprofit.  While I was at Toolworks, the agency managed several businesses, and approximately 70% of the organization’s 7 million dollar budget was generated from earned income.

I have nearly 40 years of experience working with individuals with disabilities and other challenges.  After college, I worked for several human service agencies in the Boston area. In addition to my current duties as CEO of Finding Golden Solutions, I participate in many collaborations and committees including serving on the boards of the Developmental Disability Council of Contra Costa and the City of Benicia’s Human Service Board. I am a graduate of Leadership San Francisco, Class of 1999, and a graduate of Leadership Contra Costa County, programs that educate business leaders on the complex social and economic issues of their communities.

I received my M. Ed from Harvard University and my B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania.

Supportive and Inclusive

"Donna has really turned this program into a much friendlier community. She is very supportive, she knows a lot about people with disabilities and she has worked on inclusion for people with disabilities. Thank you very much Donna for all that you did. I will miss you!"
